Small Step towards upliftment of the society we live in.

Bangalore, Karnataka (August 4, 2009) – Wake up in the morning, get ready to office, go back to office, come home have dinner, spend some time in front of tv/computer and go to bed. On weekends sleep on the cot with TV remote in hand or go out with family/friends.

What a nice, simple, lazy life???

Should we be self contented with these lifestyles? Don’t we have any other responsibilities?

When Globalsites (Members of Globals ITES Pvt Ltd) thought about the above questions they felt the need of some kind of immediate action

July, 18th 2009 – Employees as well as the management team of Globals visited Deena Seva Sangha along with some members of Yuva Bengaluru, a non - government development organization which works on poverty issues with a special focus on children. Deena Seva Sangha, the foundation was laid by Mahatma Gandhi on Jan 07th 1930 and today, the majority of its children come from the slums in Bangalore.

The purpose of the visit was an initial step towards a long-term commitment Globals chose to engage in. This commitment includes weekly lessons given by team members of the Globals staff.

The project is strongly supported by the Globals management team and the presence of Suhas Gopinath’s parents emphasizes the mutual support and interest put into this project. The employees Nisha Mittal and Mithun KM led the cooperation with the representatives of the school, Mr. Shiv Kumar (Treasurer) along with Yuva Bengaluru members Mr. Karin Gangadhar and Ms. Shantala. Through this cooperation, the launch of the project incorporated the inauguration of a new library, new sports equipments, toys and some sweets.

Globals believes that sports equipments and toys may distract the children from their problems for a short time period but by building this relationship, Globals tries to offer the children the opportunity to gain more than a mere short-term solution. Globals’ attention is directed at a long-term goal through sharing the skills and knowledge which can effectively counter the current situation and the vicious circle the children live in.

Inauguration of the library 

Additionally, Globals considers the provision of appropriate facilities and a better learning environment to be another crucial part of the long-term plan. To achieve better conditions, a new water purifier was installed. The 80-year old building has not experienced any major renovations yet and therefore, the Head Mistress of the school Mrs. Kanaka Valhi is looking forward to the future collaboration with Globals.
